🖥️ Online Learning
Is online really as good as in-person for Math and Science?
▾
Yes. For small, structured classes like ours, online works exceptionally well. Students use an interactive digital whiteboard, can ask questions at any time, and the session is recorded so nothing is ever missed. Our results prove it: 92% of our students improve their grade within a term. The key variable is class size, not location. In a small class like ours, the tutor can track everyone. In a class of 25, they can't, online or in-person.
What platform do you use? Does my child need to install anything?
▾
We use a video conferencing platform with an integrated digital whiteboard. Your child will need a computer or tablet (phone screens are too small for the whiteboard), a stable internet connection, and a set of headphones. No special software installation is required beyond a web browser. We'll send full technical setup instructions before the first session.
What if my child misses a class?
▾
Every session is recorded and shared with enrolled students within 24 hours. If your child misses a class, they can watch the full recording and access the resources shared during that session. No material is ever truly missed.
👥 Class Size & Structure
How big are the classes, really?
▾
We keep every class under 10 students, with no exceptions or over-enrolment. This is a limit we enforce because the small-group model only works when the tutor can genuinely track and respond to every student in the room. When a class fills, we open a new one, not a bigger one.
How often are classes? How long is each session?
▾
Classes run once a week per subject. All sessions are 2 hours. Some students attend multiple subject classes per week, and this is factored into our multi-subject plans.
Can my child join mid-term?
▾
Yes. We onboard new students throughout the year. We'll review the topics already covered and, where necessary, provide a short catch-up set of resources to bridge any gaps before your child joins the class.
🎓 Tutors & Qualifications
Are the tutors actually Singaporean or from top universities?
▾
Every Brainiac tutor holds a degree from NUS, NTU, Imperial College London, UCL, or an equivalent top-ranked university. We verify qualifications as part of our hiring process. We also put every applicant through a subject-knowledge test (they sit an actual IGCSE paper) and a live teaching demo. Less than 1 in 10 applicants pass our vetting process.
What if my child doesn't click with the tutor?
▾
Tell us. We take this seriously. If the match isn't right, we'll move your child to another class or another tutor. We'd rather make an adjustment than lose a student who just needed a different style. The free trial exists partly for this reason: use it to find the right fit before committing.
📚 Curriculum & Subjects
What curricula do you cover?
▾
We cover Cambridge IGCSE: Math, Additional Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. If your child is on a different curriculum, contact us; we may still be able to help, particularly for O-Level students whose content overlaps heavily with IGCSE.
Do you do exam prep / intensive revision?
▾
Yes. In the 4–6 weeks before major IGCSE exam sessions, we run intensive past-paper sessions focused entirely on exam technique and closing specific gaps. These are available to both current and new students. Tell us your exam date when you book; we'll factor it into the class match.
What if my child needs to catch up urgently before exams?
▾
We can accommodate this. Students who enrol just before exam season get priority placement and a tutor briefing on their specific weak areas. We've seen students jump two grades in 3–4 weeks of intensive work. It's not magic; it's targeted. Tell us your situation and we'll tell you honestly what's achievable.
💰 Pricing & Commitment
Is there a long-term contract?
▾
No. Our plans are month-to-month. You can pause or cancel with one month's notice. We don't lock you in because we'd rather earn your continued enrolment through results than through contracts.
Is the first session really free?
▾
Yes, completely. Your child attends the first class at no charge. If it's not the right fit, you walk away without paying anything — no forms, no awkward conversations. We offer this because we're confident in what we teach and want every family to feel certain before committing.
Do you offer sibling discounts?
▾
Yes. If you're enrolling more than one child, contact us directly (WhatsApp or email) and we'll give you the family rate. It's not currently listed on the website because it depends on the combination of subjects.
Still have a question?
We reply on WhatsApp within a few hours, and love talking to parents before they book.
